What a snoozefest. I am having lousy luck finding hot sexy romances that have plots that keep me engaged with the characters. How is this getting all the 4 and 5-star reviews?I often try to balance out my reading of reviews to decide if I should buy a book. I read 1 and 2-star reviews, and also read plenty of the 3-4-5 stars too. At first, it appeared that the 1-2 star comments were mainly gripes about the amount of sex etc. Not an issue for me, I adore sexy times, I WANT IT ALL. With that said, I decided to give the book a chance because the good reviews outweighed the bad. The first chapter hooked me into Luke's narrative and I was ready for Janica once we got these two in the same room together. But then, after the dragged out first-time sex encounter, the book goes downhill fast with contrived reasons for both characters not having a serious convo that would solve their forced angst. All the internal monologues of why they each feel they don't belong together just becomes a waste of plot/character development that could've been used to craft a better story-line. I was led to believe that this author was a best-seller for a reason, and I'm scratching my head wondering why this is considered the hottest in contemporary romance. By the 6th chapter, I was trying to figure out why Luke and Janica even liked each other.
Granted, the sex scenes are lovingly described and quite passionate (at least the first two times), but they really don't help me feel like these two people have a real love connection. Yes, they have more great sex, but soon that becomes repetitious and dull. And sexy times should never be just repetitious and dull. Sex should deepen the connection between two people, but I didn't feel their later hook-ups added anything to force these two to act or try anything new (even if they failed). And once they become stuck together willingly for two weeks in a romantic setting, nothing compelling happens that makes me want to root for them. We all know a HEA is coming, but I want that earned and not just meandering like some kiddie bumper car ride, give us the friggin ultimate adult rollercoaster ride.
I'm sad I wasted money on something so unsatisfying and over-hyped in my opinion. This is the tenth contemporary romance book I've read this summer where I have been deeply disappointed by the execution. I'm just going to start writing the books I want to read and save my money. Off I go to search for that elusive hot sexy romance that takes my breath away.

Love Me Take Me Book 2 eBook Bella Andre Reviews
I loved this story. Luke and Janica seemed like total opposites but deep down, they were a lot alike and perfect for each other. For Janica, she had always loved Luke ever since they were young. He was always the man she dreamed about. For Luke, he just saw her as the girl next door, turned sister-in-law until he gave in to his desires. On paper they were too different but once he felt the love she had for both of them, he was a goner no matter how hard he fought it.
Janica and Luke are in-laws and he over worked doctor she is clothing designer. He thinks she is too wild and she thinks he is too boring. After bad night at hospital he ends up at her door and sparks fly. She confesses her love to him and he of course runs. She believes it is because of her wild past when the real problem is from way back. He is forced to take time off and she goes looking for him. They spent several days together and he sees too late that he lo loves her she doesn't believe him and tried to run. After accident She landed in his operating room but he can't take care of her. When she wakes he shows her how much he loves her and they end up married. Looking forward to more from Bella.
AUDIO VERSION CENSORED?
I read this book on my some time ago and liked it enough to add the audio version. I have listened to various ebooks on audio, so I was astounded to realize that the audio version of this book has censored out single words, phrases and even entire paragraphs of text that apparently the reader(?) found objectionable or the author decided to "lighten up" for the audio version? I have no idea what is going on here because I looked at other reviews, and nobody else seemed to realize what had been done to the book or cared that changes were made. At first, I found it amusing. It's not that I an seeking harder language, etc., but there is no label on this audio version stating that it has been altered, and I found it very distracting to read and listen at the same time and have this narrator skip lines and paragraphs and actually replace words with different words of her own. This is an adult erotic book, and someone seems to think readers need to be protected from the original language in the book. Someone like my friend who is vision challenged and loves to listen to audio books would never know what has been done, but just try and read and listen at the same time, and you are in for a very distracting experience.
