I agree with some of the reviewers that the H was probably not really a good H. FOr some reason I really liked the story but I kept waiting for the H to become a H and it simply did not happen. I was really looking forward to his return to see how the author would redeem a H who has cheated, betrayed and lied but instead the H was unbelievably cruel to the h. I liked the h because I tend to like broken characters but reading this book was like watching the H constantly kick a puppy. He repeatedly said mean things to her and then is enraged if she trys to stand up for herself or walk away. It was just sad. The H made me want to jump in the story and smack him at times but more so for never showing any remorse for all he had done. He expected the h to run back to him after him showing up with a daughter that was concieved by his betrayal with no anger what so ever. The other thing that bothered me about this story was that the readers knew that the story was over not because there was any resolution but because there were no more pages to the book. Nothing is resolved, there was never a resolution that the characters came to that made you believes that they had accepted each others actions. Rather, it felt more like the characters just choose to let things go instead of resolving them and getting married. It is hard for me to buy a HEA when so many thigs are left unresolved.

I know this is a revised version of the original release, but I didn't notice anything that seemed like a deviation in the story. Sure, the story had some rough spots, but overall it was really good. I don't think a 1 star rating is fair to this story. Granted, I've never read anything by Shiloh Walker, so I have nothing to compare it to. I have picked up the 2nd part to this story, it's about Dale, it's called Her Best Friends Lover.
I've read probably 95% of Shiloh Walker's published works and I must say, No longer Mine is my absolute favorite. It is so full of heartache and emotion. Also of note is this is one of Ms. Walker's earlier works. She started out as a strong writer as evidenced by this book. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.
What an emotional roller coaster! I had tears welling up before I even reached chapter 2! This is such a sad love story. I could not put this book down! What I really loved about this book was how realistic it was. Usually in romance novels the man is all mushy and lovey dovey.. pretty unrealistic.. how many men do we know in real life who act that way 100% of the time? Men can be rude, at times stupid, big jack asses and Walker does a great job capturing that in this book. This is a great story about two people who love each other very much trying to find their way back to each dispite all their problems. Fantastic story! (And as always, great love scenes!!)
This was a fabulous story. Wished that the beginning wasn't the way it was though. Wished that didn't happen to Jason. I think part of the reason Wade hooked up with Jamie did have something to do with Nikki's past. He carried a lot of guilt around after all of that too. I was very glad that Nikki had for the most part people who supported her and even approached Wade and told him to back off instead of people making her feel like she should give him another shot. When he turned though . . . yeah he became a JERK. All of that didn't make sense and then I don't think he grieved enough. But I truly believed he loved her. There were several editing problems though but that didn't detract from the story.
This was an awesome book!! The only thing I might change, is a way to identify when they were going from past to present. There were times I didn't catch at first that it said THEN and I would get kinda confused and have to go back and reread. Other then that I loved this book!! Thanks for a wonderful story 😊
What a good book, and I enjoyed the extra book about Dylan and Kris. The only thing missing from this is a really long epilogue.
Nicole Kline is just getting her life back on track when things come crashing down around her again. When Wade Lightfoot left her, Nikki's heartbreak was immeasurable, but when she lost her little boy, she fell apart completely. Now Wade is back, and he thinks they should pick up where they left off, before he broke her heart. Are Nikki's wounds too deep and Wade's betrayal too painful for Nikki to give their love a second chance?
No Longer Mine is an achingly heartfelt story. Nikki's grief consumes and devastates her, physically and emotionally. Her suffering is immeasurable and tangible. Wade expects too much from Nikki. I liked him, nevertheless he frustrated me, too. He's sexy and noble, yet he did things I couldn't forgive him for either. I didn't want him to suffer any more than he had, but I wanted him to be less self-righteous and more compassionate. With all that is and isn't said between them, though, it's not surprising that they don't act with more regard toward each other. Lack of communication and misunderstandings make an unbearable situation even worse. No Longer Mine is not a feel good story, and I don't think it was intended to be. It's a tragedy with a bittersweet ending. Heartbreak turns into happiness, except there is so much pain and angst between them that I was just worn out and relived it was over. No Longer Mine is well-written and poignant and very memorable.
